Kerala Tourism scored high in the National Tourism Awards 2012-2013 bagging four prestigious awards including the second prize in the Best State category. Kerala’s continuous efforts in boosting tourist arrivals through the Kumarakom’s Responsible Tourism model among many other initiatives were recognized at the awards ceremony.
Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar received the National Tourism Awards for 2012-13 from Minister of State for Human Resources Development Shashi Tharoor.
In the Niche Tourism category, Kerala bagged the award for the ‘Most Innovative and Unique Tourism Project’ for the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
“The awards are an honour for the state, Kerala Tourism and all its stakeholders,’’ Minister Anilkumar said.
