The kite surf school in the areas of the Sol Cayo Guillermo Hotel helps in the exploitation of a new tourist modality in Jardines del Rey, located north of the central province of Ciego de Avila.
Two other centers with kite surfing are in the Hotel Allegro Club Cayo Guillermo.
Thanks to the excellent natural conditions and ideal air currents, Russian and Canadian vacationers have been practicing kite surf in Cuba’s beaches for long. The best period for practicing this sport is from November to April.
This modality is being promoted by Ecotur agency as an extra hotel option that includes training courses.
The objective is to turn Cayo Guillermo into a site for specialized tourism in accordance with its potential for developing diving, snorkeling, fishing and boat excursions.
