Korean Air, the flagship carrier of South Korea, is strengthening its global service by introducing fuel efficient cutting edge aircrafts. Starting April 2, Korean Air will introduce its brand new A330-300 aircrafts, one of the main Airbus model aircrafts, on its South East Asia routes.
The newly introduced A330-300 aircrafts will join the fleet serving on Korean Air’s routes to Sydney, Brisbane, Singapore as well as other routes in South East Asia and Oceania.
The A330-300 is an eco-friendly aircraft with a cruising speed of 879km/h, maximum flying distance of 9,450km and maximum flying time of 11 hours.
Korean Air currently operates eighteen A330-300s and is planning to introduce three more aircrafts by the end of the year.
The three new A330-300s will be equipped with a revamped prestige class, called ‘Prestige Suites’, which takes inflight style and comfort to the next level.
‘Prestige Suites’ are equipped with privacy panels installed between seats, with those in aisle seats able to rise higher for increased privacy.
Each seat is also equipped with an ottoman, a cushioned stool where passengers can rest their feet.
In general, Ottomans are more often to be seen only in the first class cabins of other airlines.
In addition, passengers in all classes can enjoy the new Audio and Video on Demand (AVOD) system, offering in-flight entertainment with improved convenience and faster processing speed.
The plane is also equipped with mood lights and LED personal reading lamps to ensure a comfortable and pleasant experience for all passengers onboard.
Meanwhile, Korean Air will introduce nineteen additional next-generation aircrafts to its fleet in 2015.
There will be seventeen passenger aircrafts including four B747-8is, six B777-300ERs, three A330-300s and four B737-800s; and two cargo aircrafts including one B747-8F and one B777F.
