La Dehesa Golf Club is part of the new Madrid’s Golf Courses Association which intends to sum up and position Madrid as reference golf destination in Europe. This project is endorsed by Madrid Tourism Association and Madrid’s Golf Federation, amongst others.
La Dehesa Golf Club is located in the charming village of Villanueva de la Cañada, at the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, one of Madrid’s natural wonders. And this year its celebrating its 25th anniversary! It’s an 18-hole golf course, par 72, with a length of 6037m. Along the course you’ll be able to enjoy its enormous greens and the interesting arrangement of its bunkers.
The course is divided in two areas, differentiated perfectly. The beauty of its first 9 holes, parallel to the river Aulencia, makes this part of the course ideal to enjoy the game, because it blends in all of the different elements that the most demanding golf players want: a beautiful environment, silence and a high quality course. The second round, holes from 10 to 18, are considered much more technical.
Today, La Dehesa Golf Club is considered one of the best golf courses in the region of Madrid, with a smooth orography, without many ups and downs, excellent for the practice of this sport. Its design came from the prestigious golf Pro Manuel Piñero, who took in to account two aspects: in first place, it needed to be competitive, but accessible for all kinds of amateurs; and secondly, inside its premises we find a rich variety of native fauna and flora, therefore its structure must be able to reach a balance with the environment, integrating itself perfectly with its surrounding.
La Dehesa Golf Club has been host of prestigious amateur championships and national tournaments. Bust most importantly it has been the starting point of many world and national golf champions, such as Virginia Espejo or Ana Barbi, winner of the Women’s Spanish Championship 2º Category, after a really exciting tournament. This is all because of its wonderful practice range, with two putting-green and a chipping-green area, and its experienced golf Pros.
