The 2013 World ROUTES is taking place in Las Vegas with high level participation from right across the world. The mid ocean islands of the Seychelles is also present with a delegation led by Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture. He is being accompanied by Amy Michel, Senior Marketing Executive from the Seychelles Tourism Board.
Seychelles is one country that remains dependant on tourism and the Minister said when talking to the press in Las Vegas that the island’s tourism industry is the pillar of the Seychelles economy.
On Monday the Seychelles delegation joined the forum on the subject ‘Linking Cruise to Aviation’ opening contacts for the island’s Minister with Cruise Ship Executives. Minister St.Ange is expected to chair a historic meeting between Tourism Ministers and Chief Executives from the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean during this World ROUTES meeting in La Vegas.
“Tourism remains very much a people industry. Tourism works through personal contacts and Seychelles has and continues to have a proactive successful tourism industry because we have been able to develop our tourism based on the traditional approach of human contact. We do it with passion and we have remained relevant in the competitive world of tourism” Minister St.Ange said in Las Vegas.
