Loews-HotelThe iconic Loews Don CeSar Hotel was named after a character in the opera Maritana by Vincent Wallace. It’s only natural that the legendary Pink Palace is teaming up with the St. Petersburg Opera Company, allowing both organizations to jointly flourish and educate the community in better understanding opera, its mission and have fun at the same time.

The public is invited on Sunday, December 15 from 5-6 p.m. as opera stars Susie Hellman and Todd Donovan, both leads in the opera Susannah, will perform Broadway, opera and holiday melodies for the community live in the Loews Don CeSar Hotel’s Lobby Bar. On Wednesday, December 18, the “Operators” will delight guests and the community with a cappella harmony in the style of barbershop quartets, but with the elegance and vocal quality of opera. Both performances are FREE, open to the public, and self-parking is being provided on a complimentary basis.

Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s Maritana Grille’s special tasting menu inspired by the St. Petersburg Opera Company’s upcoming Seasonal Sparkle musical celebration. Tasting items include dishes based on popular operas including Don Pasquale, Madama Butterfly, Der Rosenkavalier and Lohengrin Act III on the Banks of the Scheldt.
