Passengers using London Luton Airport’s official car parks from Friday 12th September will now travel in style to the terminal building on one of six brand new Mercedes Citaro buses
London Luton Airport has replaced all the buses serving the on-site car parks with an ultra-modern fleet.
Chosen for its environmental pedigree, spacious interior and light and airy styling, the Mercedes Citaro offers passengers a smooth and comfortable ride with enhanced security features such as on board CCTV. Its low steps and low-floor design make boarding and alighting easier with luggage and passengers with restricted mobility can also travel in comfort. The engine complies with stringent Euro 6 standards, benefiting from cleaner running, lower CO2 emissions and better fuel economy.
The Airport bus drivers welcome the new fleet which boasts an improved driver’s cab and is also fitted with Greenroad technology allowing the monitoring of driving standards.
Kevin Midgley Ground Transport Manager for London Luton Airport said: “Leased from Dawson Rentals, the contract for the buses is worth £1m over the next five years and demonstrates a further considerable investment by London Luton Airport into upgrading its passenger experience”.
