The new establishments will be a welcome addition to the capital, which currently has over 1200 hotels, offering a wide range of accommodation from luxury suites to budget hotel nights.

The city’s hotel stock is always growing and currently London offers 117,000 rooms, of which 50,000 are in the budget or three-star range.

The number of hotel rooms available is set to expand rapidly and it is estimated by 2017 there will be an additional 40,000 rooms available to visitors.

Gordon Innes, Chief Executive London & Partners, the Mayor’s promotional organisation, said: “It’s great news that Accor are re-developing the Trocadero centre which is right in the heart of London’s West End and just minutes from some of the city’s most famous attractions.

“In the next four years the number of hotel rooms is set to rapidly increase by over 40,000, with around half of these in the budget or three-star range.

So while the city offers some of the most luxurious hotels in the world we also offer a huge range of accommodation to suit everyone’s needs.”

London is already a great value destination and attracts more international visitors than any other city in the world.

As well as visitors being able to dine at Michelin-star restaurants and shop in the city’s West End, millions of tourists come to experience the many free first class attractions the city offers.

Sightseeing on a budget is easy in London as many world class museums and galleries are free to enter.

Visitors can go to the British Museum for some free art and culture, the Natural History Museum for amazing artefacts, learn something new at the Science Museum or discover art and design at the V&A.
