The Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen has taken the top spot on the “Best Hotels for Winter 2014-2015” list, on the hugely popular Huffington Post website – which has about 65 million readers in the United States.
The author of the list – Richard Bangs – is a widely respected travel writer, was invited by Tourism Ireland in New York to visit Fermanagh and Northern Ireland in 2013.
Commenting on the accolade, Niall Gibbons, Tourism Ireland’s CEO, said: “Congratulations to all at the Lough Erne Resort on this truly well-deserved accolade. Publicity is a very powerful tool in promoting Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland in the United States and elsewhere around the globe. The Huffington Post website has about 65 million readers, so this type of positive exposure and recognition is invaluable – it is publicity that money simply cannot buy. This accolade comes just at the right time, as we begin to ‘tee up’ the Irish Open in 2017 which will be played on the Lough Erne championship course.”
