It was chosen as the official headquarters for the R&A during the 2013 Open Championship in the summer, and now the award-winning Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa has added another golfing accolade to its collection – picking up the Accommodation Experience of the Year Award 2013 at the Golf Tourism Excellence Awards. This most recent accolade closely follows Macdonald Hotels & Resorts winning AA Hotel Group of the Year 2013/14.
Macdonald Marine Hotel & Spa, which is one of 11 hotels in ‘The Macdonald Hotels’ Signature Collection,’ also completed a £250,000 refurbishment of some of its premier rooms in May 2013. Thirteen of the hotel’s bedrooms received a significant transformation, including three Junior Suites, an Executive Four Poster Suite, and three Turret Suites.
