Allow extra time for your journey to/from London Luton AirportAir passengers and all road users travelling to/from London Luton Airport and into Luton via M1 Junction 10a are advised to allow extra time for their journeys until spring/summer 2015.

Luton Borough Council began work in January on a major £30 million improvement scheme to alleviate congestion by removing the junction’s roundabout and widening New Airport Way (A1081) and the M1 spur road to three lanes in each direction between Junction 10 and Capability Green.

The Council is doing everything possible to minimise disruption by keeping two lanes open to traffic in each direction whenever possible during daytime and peak hours throughout the 70-week programme, However, motorists should allow for extra time for their journeys..Ongoing details and up-to-date information can be found on Luton Borough Council’s website

The Council wishes to thank motorists for their understanding during this period and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

The scheme is supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund and aimed at tackling the significant queues and congestion experienced at the junction, particularly during peak times.
