Malaysia Airlines is proud to fly the national paralympic athletes to Myanmar for the 7th ASEAN Paralympic Games. The special charter flight MH8986 departs from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Nay Pyi Taw International Airport at 10:20 am.
A total of 219 athletes and officials led by chef de Mission YB Dato’ Zakaria Musa will be participating in 11 games. The national contingent is targeting 50 gold medals in honoring Malaysia’s name in the sporting arena.
Speaking at the send-off ceremony organized by the airline at Gate H2, KLIA today, its Vice President for Hajj and Charter Services, Yazid Mohamed said, “Malaysia Airlines is proud to fly our national paralympic contingent to Myanmar. As the national flag carrier of Malaysia, we are fully supportive of our paralympic athletes’ determination in achieving their target. We wish them all the best in their journey of keeping the national flag flying high,” said Yazid Mohamed, Vice President Malaysia Airlines Hajj and Charter Services.
Malaysia Airlines experienced ground handling staff and crew were on hand in ensuring the smooth journey for all the athletes. The 7th ASEAN Paralympic Games will be opening its arena starting from 14 till 20 January 2014.
