Malaysia Airports: Update On Killa2 – Fourth day Operations

MalaysiaAirportsHoldingsBerhadklia2 has now operated for 4 full days successfully with Malindo Airways, Lion Air, Tiger Airways International and Cebu Pacific Airways.

 

 
In the last 24 hours from 12.01am on 5 May until 12.01am on 6 May, a total of 46 flights movement and 6,140 passengers were recorded for both international and domestic, arrivals and departures. There were 30 total flights from Malindo Airways, 6 from Lion Air, 6 from Tiger Airways and 4 from Cebu Pacific Airways.
 

While the core operational systems at klia2 such as the check-in system, baggage handling system and the passenger boarding bridge (aerobridge) continues to operate efficiently, Malaysia Airports observed one or two isolated incidents whereby the airlines were having some resource issue on ground handling activities, particularly in the unloading of baggage from the aircraft. This had resulted in longer waiting time for the passengers to reclaim the baggages. Malaysia Airports is working closely with the airlines to assist them in improving on the response time.

 

The 4- day trend has shown that there are ample supply of public transportation systems at the Transportation hub including Taxi, Bus and Express Rail Link (ERL) with a total of 396 taxi trips and 254 bus passengers handled. The ERL services have also been running smoothly for passengers and staff alike, connecting the KL City Sentral, KLIA and klia2.
Passengers or public can approach Malaysia Airports’ Information Counters that are strategically located at klia2 for any queries or assistance. Malaysia Airports has also placed ambassadors and customer service assistants at klia2 since 2 May to assist passengers during this transition period.

 

The passengers are reminded to contact their respective airlines in advance to confirm details of their flights, especially the departure and arrival terminal to avoid any inconveniences, and to continue observing proper time management to ensure they arrive at the terminal in timely manner for their flights. Check-in counters are open 3 hours prior to flight time and closed 1 hour before flight time.
 

AirAsia, AirAsia X, Indonesia AirAsia, Thai AirAsia and AirAsia Zest will start to operate at klia2 starting on Friday, 9 May when all their flights will arrive and depart from klia2.
