Hon. Michael Sik Yuen and Dr. Karl Mootoosamy ended their European mission with several meetings and workshops in Budapest and Czech Republic. Along with some Mauritian partners,they met key travel trade partners and media representatives on the 4th and 5th of September.
In Czech Republic, they had a meeting with Charter Airlines Company and attended a fruitful workshop in cooperation with AVIAREPS. During the meeting with Travel Service, the largest charter company in Central Europe, Mr. Peter Sujan Commercial Director gave insights about possible direct connection between Czech Republic and Mauritius which will help to increase the number of tourists’ arrivals.
Meetings were also held with the main Czech tour operator, ESO Travel. The MTPA and ESO will run a promotional campaign in the media and online to increase awareness of Mauritius. A workshop was also organised in Prague with nine Mauritian partners and was attended by nearly 50 main travel operators and agents. During his speech, Hon. Michael Sik Yuen reinforced its position to consolidate trade network with tour operators in order to increase bookings and attract more tourists from Czech Republic.
