Melbourne Airport welcomes today’s detailed announcement that Tigerair will launch a new route providing daily return services between Melbourne and Canberra from 8 December 2016.
An additional 2,500 visitor seats every week will make two of Australia’s proudest and most significant cities even more available to passengers.
The new route opens up further great value, low-cost fares to support the growing numbers of domestic travellers between Melbourne and Canberra.
Increased domestic travel provides a boon to Australian tourism, both through the reinvestment of Australians’ travel dollars, and creation of local jobs. As such, the new route is expected to create subsequent benefits for both Victorian and Canberran economies.
Quotes attributable to Mr Simon Gandy, Melbourne Airport Chief of Aviation
