Mexico aims to expand tourism by targeting UK market

Mexico Tourism Board is all prepared to strengthen its tourism sector, expanding connectivity, bonding with the industries stalwarts, promoting best places and attractions and showcasing consumer targeted programs to the UK market.

 

The country witnessed more than 475,000 visitors from UK last year. It’s a 10.4 percent increase than 2014. This year saw a 9.2 percent increase in Mexico tourism so far making it one of the preferred choices for the British vacationers.

 

Besides UK, Mexico tourism is witnessing an increase in its global average with more than 4 percent tourists across the globe. To quote Lourdes Berho, CEO of the Mexico Tourism Board, ‘Over the course of the past two years, we have achieved tremendous success in the UK fueled by initiatives including the Dual Year and release of the latest James Bond blockbuster, Spectre, which saw its widely acclaimed opening scenes filmed in Mexico City’.

 
By 2021 the board is aiming 830,000 UK visitors. Therefore boosting air connectivity and providing best air travel experience to the travelers are the two key areas where the Mexico Tourism Board is prioritizing.

 
Being a biodiversity hotspot, Mexico is all geared up to emphasize its significant attractions like world-class beaches, more than 34 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, forthcoming COP13 conference, striking natural habitats, and many more to explore. Also the highly anticipated F1 and NLF game are some of the global events that returned to this thrilling city making it a favored choice for global backpackers.
