The Museum of History’s grand finale exhibition will open tomorrow featuring valuable Ming dynasty relics.
Jointly presented by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and the Min Chiu Society the Radiant Ming 1368-1644 through the Min Chiu Society Collection explores the dynasty’s diverse culture and high artistic standards.
Officiating at the opening ceremony today Chief Secretary Carrie Lam said the Min Chiu Society often generously loans out precious collections to local and overseas museums for exhibitions, adding that its achievement and contribution are recognised by both local and international collectors.
Mrs Lam also noted the department’s museums will offer free admission in January to encourage more visits as part of the Appreciate Hong Kong campaign.
About 300 sets of items from society members’ collections, including porcelain, lacquer ware, cloisonne, furniture, paintings and artefacts will be on display revealing the dynasty’s rich history and culture.
The exhibition will run until April 11.
