MoroccoTB2-24Sep13To boost tourism at the Kenyan coast, Mombasa county government will collaborate with Morocco’s Casablanca local Authority. Governor Hassan Joho’s economic advisor Hamisi Mwaguya said, that the partnership would ensure Mombasa competes with renowned excellent tourism destinations.

Antony Njaramba, county executive in charge of Tourism said that due to poor marketing structures, tourist influx in Mombasa is less. He also said that strategies are under way to turn Mombasa into a six-module tourism destination, which includes education tourism, cultural and heritage tourism, medical tourism, sports tourism, corporate, conference and the common leisure tourism.

Mwaguya said Mombasa receives an estimated 240,000 tourists every year compared to Casablanca, which gets more than 10 million annually.
