Mzembi: Received Tourism Personality Award of 2013

MzembiEngineer Walter Mzembi, the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, won the Zimbabwe Council for Tourism’s principal award, for Tourism Personality of the Year, in recognition of his efforts to fruitfully host and run the 2013 United Nations World Tourism Organisation conference in Victoria Falls.
 
Held in Harare, the presentation of the accolade was made at the annual ZCT awards event, but the Minister was not present and the Deputy Minister, Brigadier-General Kanhanga, from ZCT President Francis Ngwenya, received the award on his behalf.
 

 
The ZCT Personality of the Year trophy is honored to those individuals, who make an important contribution to the development and improvement of Zimbabwe’s travel and tourism sector, and recognition was given for his role in guiding the UNWTO meeting, which was held in Victoria Falls and Livingstone, Zambia, in August 2013. The award was dedicated to the minister for his personal leadership and for steering the many organisations and individuals who also contributed to the event’s accomplishment
