The renovation and remodeling of HB’s on the Gulf, the popular beachfront restaurant at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, is now complete. The restaurant, which is the city of Naples’ only Gulf-front restaurant, had been closed for the refurbishment since July 2013. It now features a more open design to provide even more stunning views of the Gulf, as well as new windows, new furnishings and carpet, a new terrace floor with locally-sourced Playa Shell pavers, white-washed pecky cypress for the walls, and tropical Ipe wood for the deck and railings. The project also included a new air conditioning system for the restaurant, as well as new ceiling fans, lighting, sound systems, awnings, and shutters.
“Our focus in renovating HB’s on the Gulf was to ‘bring the outside inside’ to capitalize on the restaurant’s incredibly beautiful Gulf-front setting,” said Jason Parsons, general manager of the resort. “We kept the same charm of HB’s but greatly enhanced it with a refreshed look, and a more open feel. Our diners and resort guests will love the new look.”
HB’s on the Gulf, which recently captured the prestigious “Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine for the ninth consecutive year, specializes in fresh regional seafood, great steaks and American cuisine. The restaurant offers indoor dining with gorgeous views of the Gulf, as well as the outdoor patio overlooking the water. Consistently recognized as one of Southwest Florida’s best places to view a sunset, HB’s is a zero transfat restaurant which serves an array of offerings, including a selection of natural and organic items. The restaurant serves the highest-quality products, which includes only line-caught fish, and animal products that are sourced from farms with the highest-quality standards that practice safe and humane treatment.
Dining at the restaurant provides the opportunity to experience such menu offerings as Portobello Quesadilla, Fried Calamari, Seared Jerk Rubbed Shrimp, Poppy Seed Crusted Ahi Tuna, Roasted Half Chicken, Coriander Rubbed Salmon, Grilled Rib Eye Steak, Shrimp and Scallop Provencal, and Rosemary Roasted Lamb Chops.
HB’s impressive wine list features more than 150 selections from around the world, and a number of high quality small production wines.
The renovation of HB’s on the Gulf follows a $5 million renovation at the resort that was completed in January 2013. That phase of renovations included the opening of the new Gulf-view ballroom The Everglades Room, the complete renovation of the remaining guest rooms in the resort’s Florida Wing, and the complete renovation of the resort’s Gulf-side meeting rooms and pre-function space. With the completion of these guest rooms, all of the resort’s 317 guest rooms and suites have been renovated and remodeled over the last four years.
This $5 million latest phase of improvements followed $40 million spent by the resort over the previous five years. That multi-phase project included the renovation and remodeling of the other guest rooms and suites, enhancements to the championship golf course, the renovation and expansion of The Sunset Beach Bar & Grill, and the addition (in 2010) of a beautiful beachfront pool complex (with two new pools, two new whirlpools, a new pool bar with food service, new restrooms, new locker facilities, and a new pool shop).
HB’s on the Gulf is open daily for lunch from 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., and nightly from 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. weeknights and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant is located at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, at 851 Gulf Shore Blvd. North in Naples.
