Jay Connolly, Director Waterville Golf Links was recognised for the pivotal role he has played in Irish Golf at the “2013 Gala Irish Golf Awards” by the National Irish Golf Tourism Industry recently at The Europe Hotel & Resort, Killarney, Co.Kerry, Ireland.
Minister of State for the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport, Michael Ring T.D wished to congratulate Mr. Jay Connolly and all the award winners who have received national accolades on the night:

I am particularly pleased to be presenting the 2013 Jerry Donworth Outstanding Contribution to Golf Award to Jay Connolly of Waterville Golf Links. The continuing excellence of Ireland’s golfing sector is reflected in the quality of all the winners and I commend all of them for the continuing dedication to excellence, which makes Ireland a strong competitor in the world golf market.”
The 2013 “Gala Irish Golf Awards” was hosted by CNN Presenter Shane O’Donoghue and was attended by representatives from our National Tourism Development Agencies, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland.
This event was also supported by the European Tour, Aer Lingus, Hertz Ireland, Waterford Crystal, Golf Digest Ireland, Golfing Magazine, PING Collection, Diageo Ireland, Killarney Chamber of Tourism & Commerce, Kerry County Council, the Irish Hotels Federation Kerry Branch, SWING and various other sponsors. A selection of leading Irish companies in the golf tourism industry received accolades on the night with winners in the hotel, golf course and golf resort categories.

Lahinch Golf Club – 2013 IGTOA Links Golf Course of the Year Award
Eoin O’Sullivan, The Royal Dublin Golf Club – 2013 IGTOA Golf Manager of the Year Award
Jay Connolly, Waterville Golf Links – 2013 Jerry Donworth Outstanding Contribution to Golf Award
The event is run each year by the Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) which is an organisation represents the National Irish Golf Tourism Industry and is pro-active in the promotion, growth and development of Irish Golf Tourism overseas.
