The National Restaurant Association issued the following statement regarding the House Judiciary Committee’s passage of the Innovation Act of 2013:
“The National Restaurant Association commends Chairman Goodlatte, Congresswoman Lofgren, and the House Judiciary Committee for bringing members of both parties together to pass the Innovation Act of 2013. As patent trolls continue to ‘gobble up’ innovation among restaurants and main street businesses, the Innovation Act will be a strong first-line of defense. Comprehensive patent reform is critical to the restaurant industry and we urge further inclusion of demand letter transparency as the House considers this bill. We look forward to continuing our work with Congress on this issue and hope to finally throw patent trolls off the bridge to our future.”
