National Restaurant Association Earns Bronze Telly Award for Social Media Training DVD

national-restaurant-association-300x125 (2)The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has been recognized as a Bronze winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for its best practices training DVD, “Being Social Media Smart.”  The DVD was released earlier this year as part of a three-disc set of tips on tough issues for restaurant operators.

“Congratulations to our team members for their outstanding work creating an excellent resource for our operators in the foodservice industry,” said Dawn Sweeney, President and CEO, National Restaurant Association. “At the National Restaurant Association, we continuously strive to provide members with the tools they need to operate their businesses successfully, and we are very pleased to be recognized for this effort.”
 
Being Social Media Smart explains how social media platforms can allow private information to quickly become public, and that employees must know how to be responsible when representing themselves or their companies on those platforms.

 

 

The training course covers the following five areas:

Being knowledgeable about how public and private networks intersect;
Understanding how one person’s posts affect others;
Protecting company confidentiality;
Learning to identify and avoid sharing dangerous information; and
Being respectful and never posting things about fellow coworkers or the company without permission.
