The Trenton-bound train was pulling out at around 9:30 p.m. when it got stuck in the north tube of the Hudson River tunnel as told by the NJ Transit officials.
The 800 passengers on board were in a state of panic when the incident occurred.
A diesel train was sent to pull the disabled train back to the Penn Station shortly after 10 pm.
The 800 passengers were to be put on a new train so that they could proceed on their journey to Trenton.
