New Restaurant At The K Club – K Thai

New-Restaurant-At-The-K-ClubThe 5 AA Red Star, K Club has just launched K Thai, a brand new Thai & South East Asian restaurant situated in The Smurfit Clubhouse. The restaurant blends the very finest of Irish produce with spices and flavours of the east. Decorated in cool creams and antique whites, and overlooking the dramatic landscape of the Smurfit Golf Course, the restaurant is light and airy and is the perfect blend of contemporary and Asian design.

In Thailand, food forms a central part of any social occasion and K Thai is the perfect place for friends and family to gather. A superb selection of bites and starters are perfect for sharing, order a few of them and place them in the centre of the tables to experience different tastes and textures. There is also a good selection of Thai soups including traditional hot and sour broths and Wanton Soups.



The key ingredients such as fresh meat fish and vegetables are sourced locally where possible to ensure the freshest of flavour, while Thai Salads are made with locally grown leaves, provided by Pat Clarke in Donore. These light and refreshing zingy salads balance spicy, sweet and sour tastes. Salads are combined with Irish beef, chicken or crispy duck and all are served with Jasmine rice.



The Wok Station offers a range of classic Thai dishes including Chilli Beef, Peking Style Silverhill Duck and Sweet Chilli Chicken while some more contemporary offerings include, ‘ Drunken Prawns’ – Tiger Prawns with Asian vegetables, peppers and Xio Sing Wine and Oyster Sauce. Special dishes include Steamed Wild Atlantic Seabass, Fillet Steak and Slow Cooked Pork Belly with fresh chilli and basil sauce. There are also a large choice of curries and noodles dishes while children are also well catered for.


The head chef is the very talented, Thai Luong while the front of house manageress is Michelle Ong who together, have over 33 years’ experience in Thai food. Both will work under the direction of The K Club Executive Chef Finbar Higgins and his team.


Other food offerings at the K Club include The River Room Restaurant in the hotel, Legends in the Palmer Clubhouse, The Byerley Turk fine dining Restaurant, the Chinese Drawing Room and The Riverside Café.
