16-300x200A chic new bar and eatery has opened in Port Stephens overhanging the pristine waters from which it sources fresh seafood for view-loving guests. The seven-day-a-week Little Beach Bar was launched on August 6 as a waterside extension of the popular Little Beach Boathouse restaurant above it which opened in 2013 at the Little Beach marina in Nelson Bay.

Boasting a rustic and industrial, coastal ambience with raw timber and copper and a jetty over the dolphin-filled waters of Port Stephens, the 100-seat Little Beach Bar can be a destination for drinkers, with tasty finger food and local oysters on offer, or a scenic stopover for pre-or-post lunch and dinner drinks for guests dining in the Little Beach Boathouse restaurant above.

Offering spectacular views over Port Stephens, the light and salt-air-filled Little Beach Bar can also be used for group functions, corporate events, weddings and cocktail parties for 10-120 people, or combined with the 80-seat restaurant upstairs for whole-of-complex hire.

In addition to finger food, luscious local oysters and desserts served in glass jars, the new bar will offer boutique tap beer, Hunter region and unique cocktails – ideal for grazing on the outdoor deck, taking in the views over Port Stephens.

Since it opened in 2013 with Luke and Alicia Cameron, Charlie Culver and Ben Way at the helm – Luke and Ben are the chefs – Little Beach Boathouse has earned praise as a fine dining restaurant specialising on fresh local produce, seafood straight from the marina just over 1km away, modern Australian dishes and local wine and craft beer.

“We are so excited to expand our dream at Little Beach Boathouse with our new Little Beach Bar which we hope will prove as popular with locals and visitors as our restaurant upstairs,” said chef and co-owner Luke Cameron. “The bar is inspired by the beautiful blue waters of Port Stephens and we know our guests will be inspired by the view as they enjoy local seafood, wine and beer or casual get-togethers in a relaxed and chilled space that showcases and celebrates everything we love about Port Stephens.”
