New York-based Ambassador Marie-Louise Potter & Consul General Justin Entzin of the Seychelles meet with Minister Alain St.Ange as he arrived in the USA for a UN meeting

Minister-of-tourism-SeychellesAmbassador Marie-Louise Potter, the Seychelles representative at the United Nations and also the Ambassador in the USA, met with Alain St.Ange, their island`s Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, who had traveled to the USA this week to address a meeting at the United Nations .

Ambassador Potter and Consul General Entzin discussed with Minister St.Ange different matters relating to a greater presence by the Seychelles Islands in the USA. The potential of increased promotion of the Seychelles as a holiday destination for the Americans was discussed and also the potential of the USA as a target market analyzed for holiday packages that would take in an African safari before the relaxing break in the pristine environment of the Seychelles.

“Everyone knows that the mid-ocean islands of the Seychelles offers the best in a sun, sea, and sand holiday, but for this, the USA was too far to be a target market. But for a safari and beach combination, Seychelles partners perfectly with mainland Africa, which was why our Tourism Board launched the twin-center holiday approach.

“This is why we launched the concept of AFTER THE BIG FIVE… COME TO THE BEST FIVE. This was the spirit of working together as a region to grow the tourism cake – the same approach of beach and mountain holiday combinations we are doing with the island of La Reunion named the Switzerland of the Indian Ocean because of its spectacular mountains. La Reunion is also blessed with an active volcano and makes an ideal partner for Seychelles,” Minister Alain St.Ange said.

Following these talks with the Seychelles Ambassador and Consul General, Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, held a meeting with the CEO of the Africa Travel Association based in New York itself to discuss tourism promotion for Seychelles and to see about possible cooperation.
