download-110-300x120The newly renovated HB’s on the Gulf, the city of Naples’ only Gulf-front restaurant, has unveiled virtually all-new lunch and dinner menus. The new menus were created by HB’s on the Gulf’s new Chef Justin Hornyak and his team. Located at Southwest Florida’s The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club, which recently received the prestigious AAA Four-Diamond rating, the award-winning restaurant completed an impressive renovation and remodeling in November 2013. The restaurant now features a more open design to provide even more stunning views of the Gulf, as well as new windows, new furnishings and carpet, a new terrace floor with locally-sourced Playa Shell pavers, white-washed pecky cypress for the walls, and tropical Ipe wood for the deck and railings. The renovation project at the restaurant also included a new air conditioning system for the restaurant, as well as new ceiling fans, lighting, sound systems, awnings, and shutters.
The just-unveiled dinner menu, which is now available at the restaurant, features such new small plate offerings as: Fried Duck Wontons; Sauteéd Calamari; Diver Scallops; Malpeque Oysters; Little Neck Clams; Prince Edward Island Mussels; and Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. New soup and salad options include: Smoked Corn Chowder, Goat Cheese Croquette Salad; Heirloom Tomato Salad, and Roasted Beets Salad. New large plate options on the dinner menu include: Grilled Chicken Piccolini; Seared Yellow Tail Snapper; Shrimp and Grits; Grilled Cobia; Pan-Seared Flounder with Tangerine Couscous; Seared Grouper; and Filet of Beef served with Boursin-stuffed Morel Mushrooms. Side options include Spinach & Goat Cheese Risotto, Grilled Asparagus, and Sautéed Grape Tomatoes. Popular items from the previous menu, such as Seafood Gumbo, Grilled Caesar Salad, Grilled Ribeye, and Grilled Kurobuta Pork Rib Chop, remain on the dinner menu.
HB’s new lunch menu features many of the same new small plate options that are on the new dinner menu, as well as such new large plate options as Pork Belly Sliders; Grouper Tacos; Snapper Sandwich; BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado); Hanger on Sourdough; Bourbon-Glazed Shrimp; Oyster Po Boy; and Vegan Hummus Wrap. HB’s popular Jamaican Pineapple Boat Salad, and Sirloin Burger, both remain from the previous menu.
HB’s on the Gulf is open daily for lunch from 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., and nightly from 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. weeknights and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Small plates on the new lunch menu start at $12.50, with large plates starting at $15. Small plates on the new dinner menu start at $12.50, with large plates on the dinner menu ranging from $24-$44. “We are so proud to unveil these new menus,” said Jason Parsons, general manager of The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club. “These superb new offerings that were created by Chef Justin and his team are absolutely delicious, and are a wonderful way to re-introduce the newly renovated, and greatly enhanced, HB’s on the Gulf.”
HB’s on the Gulf, which recently captured the prestigious “Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine for the ninth consecutive year, specializes in fresh regional seafood, great steaks and American cuisine. The restaurant offers indoor dining with gorgeous views of the Gulf, as well as the new outdoor patio overlooking the water. Consistently recognized as one of Southwest Florida’s best places to view a sunset, HB’s is a zero transfat restaurant which serves an array of offerings, including a selection of natural and organic items. The restaurant serves the highest-quality products, which includes only line-caught fish, and animal products that are sourced from farms with the highest-quality standards that practice safe and humane treatment.
HB’s impressive wine list features more than 150 selections from around the world, and a number of high quality small production wines.
The renovation of HB’s on the Gulf follows a $5 million renovation at the resort that was completed in January 2013. That phase of renovations included the opening of the new Gulf-view ballroom The Everglades Room, the complete renovation of the remaining guest rooms in the resort’s Florida Wing, and the complete renovation of the resort’s Gulf-side meeting rooms and pre-function space. With the completion of these guest rooms, all of the resort’s 317 guest rooms and suites have been renovated and remodeled over the last four years.
This $5 million latest phase of improvements followed $40 million spent by the resort over the previous five years. That multi-phase project included the renovation and remodeling of the other guest rooms and suites, enhancements to the golf course, the renovation and expansion of The Sunset Beach Bar & Grill, and the addition (in 2010) of a beautiful beachfront pool complex (with two new pools, two new whirlpools, a new pool bar with food service, new restrooms, new locker facilities, and a new pool shop).
Rich in family hospitality and tradition, The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club has resided on the Southwest coast in Naples, Florida since 1946. Owned and operated by the Watkins family for three generations, this 317-room and suite resort is Naples’ only beachfront property with golf, spa, tennis and water recreation on-property. The resort is further complemented by an array of casual dining options, retail shops, beach rentals, 34,000 square feet of meeting space, and complimentary kids club.
