The MBR delegation aimed to discover new horizons on offer by The Wave that can be showcased as unique tourism selling points in more than 15 key markets across the globe.

During the visit, the MBRs also explored the various amenities available at The Wave, Muscat along with some of the project’s management, identified ways to further encourage more tourists to experience the country’s leisure and lifestyle hot spots that have been diligently designed to meet the discerning tourist’s needs.

Hawazen Esber, CEO of The Wave, Muscat, said, “Welcoming the Ministry’s representatives to our waterfront community was truly an honour, especially in light of The Wave, Muscat being the only project of its kind to be selected as a must see Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC) during the MBRs’ short stint in Oman.”

“For the past 10 years, we have been representing the Omani Ministry of Tourism and managing the PR and marketing for the Ministry in our countries. Throughout the years, we could realize the importance of promoting Destination Oman in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia. Today, we can observe the remarkable progress achieved in the tourism sector thanks to the enormous tourism infrastructure including the hospitality projects and tourism complexes like The Wave, Muscat,” commented Karin Zwiers, General Manager for German speaking countries, Scandinavia & Finland.

The sheer beauty of The Wave, Muscat and meticulously designed Master Plan that incorporates attractive open spaces, parks, gardens, and landscaped walkways that blend unique Omani architecture with contemporary design aesthetics were also singled out as potential South Asian filming and celebration venues by Lubaina Sheerazi, Representative of the Ministry of Tourism, India.

The implementation of an enhanced approach being set by the MoT and its partners is set to further boost tourism’s contribution to the national economy. The Sultanate is in a very promising position to capture the myriad benefits associated with the sector and utilize the country’s existing and upcoming tourism infrastructure. Oman is set to lead the Middle East in tourism and currently has one of the strongest growth rates worldwide according to the World Travel and Tourism Council.
