The Oman Ministry of Tourism participated yesterday morning in the largest tourism expo World Travel Market (WTM) in London during 3-6 November 2014, the leading global event for the travel industry is a vibrant business event presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to the UK and International travel professionals.
The delegation is headed this year by H.E Maitha Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Tourism (MoT).
At the beginning of the exhibition, Her Excellency Maitha Al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Tourism welcomed the participants from the private sector in the Omani pavilion and commended the important role they take to stimulate tourism in the Sultanate and wished them success in their participation in the exhibition.
Additionally, Her Excellency stated the importance in participating in international exhibitions since it will allow the Sultanate to enhance its strength as a tourist destination and diversify its tourist attractions by introducing new destinations and products the country has to offer.
Also, it is a great opportunity for investors to meet the representatives of the ministry to promote tourism in the Sultanate within the international tourism market.
Tourism development may raise the awareness of the natural and cultural heritage and contribute to more resources being allocated to the protection and conservation of that heritage.
These efforts include, among other things, providing finance at preferential terms and easing the conditions and terms, obtaining services and permits for startups , provision of technical support to them and assistance to entrepreneurs to market and promote their products and services.
The contribution of the Sultanate in the exhibition promotes the fundamentals of tourism and highlights the tourist services provided by the institutions and facilities in the tourism sector in the Sultanate.
Additionally, it sheds a light on the latest developments in the tourism subdivision by providing opportunities for companies and institutions to promote their programs and contributions.
Her Excellency states participating in the exhibition, will help promote the prominent tourism projects and future projects in the Sultanate.
It is a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business under one roof; moreover, to build a business relationship with these companies and to introduce them to investment opportunities available in the Sultanate.
