The Ministry of Tourism will represent the Sultanate in the 34th session of a four-day World Travel Market (WTM). The Sultanate’s delegation is headed by Ahmed bin Nasser al Mahrazi, Minister of Tourism. The Sultanate participates with 22 companies operating in the travel and tourism sector. The Ministry of Tourism seeks to promote the tourist infrastructure of the Sultanate, highlight services abound in the region, contribute to the development of tourism, to highlight developments in the service and tourism sector, attract more tourists from home and abroad, to provide the travel and tourism companies with the opportunity to promote its programmes and offers and to highlight the tourism industry by offering new tourism products.
The Ministry also seeks to inform companies about the future tourism projects in the Sultanate, exchange experiences between Governments and tourism companies, to meet with their counterparts from companies operating in the tourism sector from all over the world, building a business relationship between the companies and their counterparts in the Sultanate and to prepare its investment climate to them in the Sultanate. The Sultanate participates in WTM to confirm its status as a regional and global tourist destination in the region by focusing on the promotion of its cultural, heritage and tourism potentials, showcase its tourism products and offers and sign numerous direct trade agreements, bilateral and joint memoranda of understanding, as the market provides trade opportunities, mutual agreements and know about the latest developments in the industry and highlighted trends, solutions and issues on eco-tourism and crisis management
