Ontario is helping more commuters take public transit and get to their destination sooner as Metrolinx rolls out its 500th GO Bus.
As of Sept. 17, GO Transit will have a total of 500 buses on the road, serving commuters in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).
The fleet is made up of 117 double-decker buses, 381 diesel-highway coaches, and two diesel-electric hybrid highway coaches.
All GO buses have “kneeling” features to make it easier to get on and off for riders with disabilities. Several GO Bus routes also offer wheelchair-accessible service on some or all trips.
GO’s double-decker buses and highway buses use innovative technology and meet environmental protection standards for lower emissions.
Building public transit and creating jobs are part of the government’s economic plan to invest in people, build modern infrastructure and support a dynamic and innovative business climate.
