Orbitz.com announces that the Orbitz Flights, Hotels, Cars app for iOS and Android got top nod as Best Travel App at the 2014 APPY Awards. The distinguished APPY Awards, held last night at the Crowne Plaza in Times Square and now in the fourth year, honor applications on all platforms and are dedicated to acknowledging creativity and excellence in app design.
Winners of the APPYs are selected by a group of technology experts across industries who take months to comb through thousands of entries before naming winners in 40 categories. The Orbitz app for Flights, Hotels and Cars won the APPY in the travel category based on its ability to easily search flights, hotels and car rentals and for the seamless integration of Facebook, Google Wallet and the Orbitz Rewards loyalty program within the app.
The Orbitz Rewards program allows members to always earn more on the mobile app – 5 percent on hotels and 2 percent on flights. Orbucks, the currency of Orbitz Rewards, can be earned and redeemed via the Orbitz Flights, Hotels, Cars mobile app.
