Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the USO proudly opened its newest USO Service Center at Orlando International Airport (MCO). Amidst the pomp and circumstance of a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) color guard, a brass band playing “Stars and Stripes Forever” and a solo artist singing “God Bless America”, the new USO Service Center at MCO officially embarked on its mission to assist and connect America’s service men and women while they travel through Central Florida.
“We have approximately 700 thousand military members who travel through this airport every year,” says Frank Kruppenbacher, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “This new USO Center allows us to properly thank them for their service and assist them along their journey.”
What makes the USO Service Center at Orlando International Airport somewhat unique is that it’s open to active duty military personnel, their families and to veterans and retirees. The 3,100 square foot facility, one of the largest USO’s in the country, is located on the first level of the “A” terminal west end. The facility features a children’s area, quiet room, computers, books, 80-inch television monitors and secure baggage
storage.
