download-25Pier One Sydney Harbour, Sydney’s chic urban waterfront hotel, is delighted to be partnering with Luxperience, the luxury travel trade show to be held in Sydney in September. With a beautification project underway at the hotel encompassing the lobby, bar and new restaurant Pier One Sydney Harbour is the perfect premium accommodation partner to welcome discerning delegates from around the globe for an experience ‘exactly like nothing else’.

Contemporary hotel design is entering a new and exciting era, one of true innovation, embracing sustainability, clever use of space and pleasing aesthetics. This current topic is one of many new tourism trends that will be explored at this year’s Luxperience Thought Leaders Forum. This will include a presentation by Dr Eduardo de la Fuente Professor of Sociology at Flinders University. He will be sharing his findings on trends in design and development of contemporary hotels, a topic that has seen much attention recently in the rapidly evolving hotel landscape.

A great example of such design innovation can be found at Pier One Sydney Harbour. Built over 100 years ago as a working cargo wharf and passenger transit point the hotel is rich in character where the historic details of the past have been intricately transformed into a modern contemporary property. Now in the finals stages of its transformation under the Autograph Collection the partnership with Luxperience simply made perfect sense.

Delegates staying at the hotel will have the chance to get a first-hand glance at the fresh and innovative new direction General Manager Kim Mahaffy and her team has in motion.“We are taking the property in a direction that will introduce a distinctly different hotel experience, exquisitely presented with a focus on luxury trends and designs. Luxperience delegates staying with us will get a sneak peak of the concepts we are implementing over the next several months of our beautification upgrades that will ensure Pier One is considered the only place to stay in Sydney for those that expect the unexpected” says Kim.
