The national tourism agency of Poland, Polish Tourist Organisation (PTO), will launch an online educational and certification programme for Indian travel agents by the end of next month. The programme is currently in the finalisation stage and is expected to have five thematic modules with three steps of certification, namely Bronze, Silver and Gold, informed Emilia Kubik, Project Leader, Department of Marketing & Planning, PTO.
Speaking on the sidelines of the PTO roadshow in Delhi, Kubik said that polandspecialist.com will have a dedicated server to get as many agents as possible registered and certified. PTO will also launch a similar programme for the Chinese market in their local language, she said. PTO organised the roadshows in Bengaluru and Mumbai as well.
PTO also launched a dedicated Quick Response (QR) application code during the roadshows, containing detailed information on filming locations in Poland. With the code, Indian film producers can gain information on film locations, film producers, facilities including studios, etc., using the 3D bar code.
“We had small Bollywood productions in Poland in the past. We wanted to take this forward and invite more Indian producers to Poland,” said Aneta Ksiazek, Chief Conference Expert, PTO. PTO has already signed a couple of contracts for Indian movies to be shot in Warsaw and Krakow. This includes the upcoming Bollywood project, ‘Kick’. “We hope ‘Kick’ will provide the much required fillip for Poland as a filming destination here in India,” she said.
PTO is also keen to promote Poland as a MICE destination in the Indian market, considering the meetings infrastructure that have come up in the country in the last ten years. The heritage city of Krakow will add two multi-functional conference and exposition venues this year, namely ICE Krakow and Expo Krakow.
