Qantas Golf Club is a new online community that provides the ability to earn Qantas Points for playing golf, the ability to book tee times online, exclusive invitations to attend golf events and tournaments, and access to travel packages to visit some of the world’s best courses.

All Qantas Frequent Flyer members can join, with a choice of a basic, free membership or premium membership that includes the ability to obtain an official Golf Australia handicap.

CEO Qantas Loyalty Lesley Grant said with golf being a favorite pastime among many of the program’s 10 million members, the program was expected to be a popular new way to earn points.

“Many of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program’s over 10 million members have indicated that they are keen golfers.

“Qantas Golf Club gives Qantas Frequent Flyers the opportunity to join this one club but access many courses, as well as a range of other golfing activities,” she said.

Australian golf legend and Qantas Ambassador, Greg Norman has endorsed the new program.

“Qantas Golf Club is an incredible value-add to the frequent flyer program. It will provide the ability to play a diverse and varying network of courses which is a fantastic opportunity for all golf fans.”

Golf Australia CEO Stephen Pitt said Qantas Golf Club would be a key pillar in the sport’s development strategy.

“This exciting new club is a terrific offering to the 800,000 social golfers in Australia each year, many of who will be Qantas Frequent Flyer members,” he said.
“We see real potential for this program to have a positive effect on participating golf clubs through increased foot traffic, rounds played, club marketing and future membership opportunities. We’re delighted to work with Qantas on making this significant program a success,” Pitt added.

To celebrate the new Qantas Golf Club, Qantas Frequent Flyers who register their interest at qantasgolfclub.com.au and sign up for a premium membership at launch, will receive 5,000 bonus Qantas Points.

Separately, Qantas Frequent Flyer members have the option to be part of the annual Qantas Golf Challenge. This year’s event will see members take part in a four-ball team challenge in Queenstown from 23 to 27 November.  Qantas Frequent Flyers will have the chance to play three rounds on two of New Zealand’s best courses, Millbrook and Jack’s Point.

The introduction of the Qantas Golf Club is the latest in a number of innovations launched recently by Qantas Loyalty, including Qantas Cash the award winning prepaid travel card, Aquire the new loyalty program for small and medium enterprises, and Qantas epiQure the community for Qantas Frequent Flyers with an interest in food and wine.
