Qatar Duty Free announces a Chinese-themed celebration at Hamad International Airport

qatar2Qatar Duty Free (QDF) is celebrating Chinese New Year with special promotions and activities at a bespoke Chinese-themed pavilion inside Hamad International Airport (HIA) from January 11, 2015 until February 28, 2015.

 

 

Strategically located behind the iconic teddy bear in the departures hall of HIA, the 180m²-pavilion has been built especially for this occasion and offers a variety of activities with staff dressed in traditional costume for the duration of the festival.

 

 

“Chinese New Year is a very important cultural event that Qatar Duty Free likes to celebrate every year with enticing promotions and discounts,” said Senior Vice President Qatar Duty Free, Keith Hunter. “Following our move to Hamad International Airport earlier this year, we now have the opportunity to take our activity to a new level by constructing a 180m²-Chinese-themed pavilion and offering an even wider range of products, promotions and typical Chinese activities such as traditional tea tasting.”

 

 

 

All guests transiting and departing through HIA during the Chinese New Year period will be issued with an 8% discount gift voucher that they are entitled to use in the Chinese pavilion on categories including fragrances, skincare, confectionery, luxury watches, gifts and souvenirs. Other innovative promotions will run in conjunction with this special offer, which give passengers travelling through Hamad International Airport access to a wide variety of duty free products at amazing prices.

 

 

Guests who make a purchase of QR1,000 or US$274 and above using a UnionPay payment card will also receive a traditional Chinese envelope containing a QDF QR100 gift voucher.

 

 

Qatar Duty Free shop assistants will be distributing the discount gift vouchers in key departure and transit areas dressed in traditional Chinese costumes.
