Raffles Resort of Praslin turns their Seychelles Carnaval float into an ongoing photo opportunity point for their guests

Published on : Monday, June 16, 2014

Seychelles-Tourism-BoardThe island of Praslin in the Seychelles is known for its unique Coco-De-Mer Nut and for its endemic Black Parrot. It was not surprising to see the Raffles Resort of Praslin use these two iconic symbols as their attraction for their float in the 2014 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria in the Seychelles.

The Raffles Resort of Praslin pulled the prize for the best local float at this year’s carnival and Christophe Ganster, the Resort’s General Manager and his Team had earned so much visibility for their resort at Praslin and for the Raffles Resorts Group through their participation and this Praslin Resort is today more known in the world of tourism than they have ever been.

But that is not the end of plusses for Christopher Ganster and his Team at Raffles Resort of Praslin. They dismantled their float and took their reproduction of the giant Coco-de-Mer Nut and its male Catkin and the Black Parrot back to their resort and reassembled the lot in their upper lounge as a display to mark their participation in the 2014 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria of the Seychelles.

Today this display has become a photo opportunity point for guests at the resort. Last weekend visitors at the resort were seen taking pictures of themselves next to the Raffles Resort version of the main icons of Praslin Island. Christopher Ganster, the G.M. of the Raffles Resort and his Team at the Resort on Praslin should be congratulated for turning their float into a photo opportunity for their guests.

In the 70s when a giant land tortoise  nicknamed ‘Per Kobe’ led the then carnival of Seychelles the picture of this giant land tortoise made it on press reports about the seychelles for years after that edition of the island’s carnival. Today it is the Team of the raffles Resort of Praslin who are being congratulated for their initiative that is getting Praslin Island seen and noticed as a tourism destination with unique icons.
