wer__0000_RCIRCI, the global leader in vacation exchange, and part of the Wyndham Worldwide family of brands (NYSE: WYN), recently hosted its second Tourism Oriented Real Estate (TORE) conference at the International Asia-Pacific Convention Centre in Sanya-Hainan, China.

The conference was jointly organized by China Real Estate Information Corporation (CRIC), HNA Hotel Group and RCI Asia Pacific.

More than 150 guests attended, including Hu Xiao Ying, CRIC Tourism Real Estate Division general manager; Adrian Lee, managing director of RCI Asia Pacific; and William Zhao, general manager of Brand & Project Development, HNA Hotel and Resorts Group.

The one-day conference focused on the growth, development, trends and opportunities of tourism real estate in China.

A host of industry experts covered an array of the hottest topics in today’s marketplace, including the different business models available in the tourism industry, as well as case studies on the success of shared ownership in China and how it can be successfully introduced into a resorts menu of recreational real estate offerings.

The conference also provided a platform for hotel developers and operators within China to meet and discuss these exciting new concepts.

As the tourism industry in China continues to enjoy double digit growth, more hotel developments in China are adopting a mixed-use model that provides for a better return on investment.

Furthermore, shared ownership products are more in tune with the needs and preferences of today’s discerning consumers.

“Shared ownership has become main-stream with many hotel developers around the world adopting a mixed-use model,” said Adrian Lee, managing director, RCI Asia Pacific. “The marketplace is evolving and both developers and hospitality operators are looking at new business models to improve ROI and deliver enhanced operating synergies.”

In addition to the insightful presentations by guest speakers and interactive Q&A sessions, the conference also served as an excellent platform for networking opportunities in the beautiful city of Sanya-Hainan, China.
