Revenue Generation in Tourism Sector of India

india-flag (1)The Indian Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture & Tourism Shri Shripad Yesso Naik has said that the Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) through tourism in India during 2011, 2012 and 2013 were Rs.77,591 crore, Rs.94,487 crore and Rs.1,07,671 crore, respectively.

 

This information is not available for 2014. The Ministry of Tourism does not compile State-wise estimates of FEEs from tourism.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today Shri Naik said, the Foreign Exchange earned through tourism in India goes into the foreign exchange reserves of the country.

The Ministry of Tourism does not compile site-wise estimates of FEEs from tourism.

 

The details of number of projects and amount sanctioned to the States during 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 are given as under:
