RIU Hotels & Resorts presents its new www.riu.com page. The hotel chain’s new home has a responsive (adaptable) design allowing for optimal visualisation of the page both on computers and mobile devices, such as tablets, as it adapts to any screen size and orientation. New image, new content distribution, higher speed, faster browsing and adapted to touchscreen use, together with more presence of social networks, are just some of the novelties presented by the new www.riu.com.
RIU launched a new home less than two years ago. The very same day of its launch, the chain’s team commenced its research into new trends and improvements, aware of the constant and extremely fast development experienced by the web. Today RIU presents the results of this research and development work with the www.riu.com website.
The change in design is obvious. A greater dominance of images, showing tourist destinations, hotels and experiences, together with restructured information to simplify searches and reduce the steps required. The web is optimised to ensure faster loading of information, while the browsing improvements take touchscreen use into account very seriously, with new characteristics such as larger buttons.
The large images serve to present the product better, but also to highlight relevant information for the user, such as offers or novelties. The social networks stand out in this new home with direct links to the corporate accounts of RIU on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and Pinterest.
There is also the new corporate video of RIU: “A unique experience, more than 100 hotels to enjoy it” with a highlighted banner inviting all users to get to know the hotel chain through the experiences of real customers and employees.
The RIU web page and its new home are available in eight languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese and Russian.
