Robinhood-AirportBosses at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield have today announced two new routes from the South Yorkshire airport.

UK Regional Airline, LinksAir, is set to base an aircraft at Doncaster Sheffield Airport launching new routes to Belfast City and the Isle of Man.

Steve Gill, managing director of the airport, said: “This is fantastic news for the airport and for Yorkshire passengers.

“These two new routes are a great addition to our offering. Belfast will be a fantastic business route with people being able to set off in the morning and be in Belfast city centre for the start of the business day.
“Our new three-time weekly service to the popular Isle of Man is Yorkshire’s only link to the island, famous for its world famous TT motorcycle race event and its rugged coastline and sandy beaches. It is also a convenient link for the financial services sector.”

Belfast flights, which start on 7 April, will run twice-daily on weekdays and a single Sunday return, departing from Doncaster at both 7.05am and 5.05pm daily Monday to Thursday, with a 10:45am and 5.50pm departures on a Friday.

Return services will leave Belfast City Airport at 8:45am and 6.45pm Monday to Thursday and at 12:25pm and 6.45pm on a Friday.

A Sunday service will leave Doncaster at 5.05pm with the return leaving Belfast City at 6.45pm.

Ros Jones, Mayor of Doncaster said: “Doncaster Sheffield Airport is one of our great assets.

We are delighted that they are adding new routes to their current destinations which will undoubtedly make travelling from Doncaster a more attractive proposition for people from across Yorkshire.

“Routes to Belfast and the Isle of Man will benefit both business and leisure travellers and we also look forward to welcoming passengers flying into the borough.”

Fares on the short 70-minute flight to the Northern Irish capital start from just £64.00 which includes all government taxes and airport charges, a hold-bag up to 15kg, fast-track security access, seat assignment and on-board product, to compliment the beneficial timings to suit both business and leisure travellers.

The new Isle of Man service will commence on April 14, operating on a Monday, Friday and Sunday, allowing for short leisure breaks and business trips.
Roger Hage, LinksAir Commercial Manager, commented: “We are delighted at LinksAir to be making Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield our fourth aircraft and crew base and supporting up to ten new jobs at the airport.

We are confident that these routes to Belfast City and the Isle of Man will be well supported and have the ability to grow.

“Belfast is a vibrant city and there is clear demand for services between Belfast and the Sheffield City Region.

The Isle of Man has great appeal as both a short-stay leisure destination and for its unique place in motorsport culture.”
