Sailing Holland has appointed corporate travel and events management company ATP Event Experts as the official travel, accommodation and hospitality provider for Team Brunel during The 2014 – 2015 Volvo Ocean Race.
ATP Event Experts, part of the ATPI Group, will source and book travel and accommodation for athletes and supporters attending the various legs of the event which starts on October 11 in Alicante (Spain) and ends June 27, 2015 in Gothenburg (Sweden).
As part of the contract, the ATP Event Experts team will manage multiple events for sponsors of the sailing team, including the invitation and registration process, flights, logistics and onsite accommodation. The team will also organise onsite hospitality and event activities in the nine other ports that Team Brunel will call on during the regatta.
The Volvo Ocean Race is the world’s pre-eminent round-the-world yacht race and one of the most coveted prizes in the sport. Across four oceans and five continents, the 12th edition of the Volvo Ocean Race will start on October 4, 2014, the day of the first In-Port Race in Alicante, Spain, and finish with one last In-Port Race on June 27, 2015 in Gothenburg, the Swedish home of Volvo. The 38,739-nautical mile route will include stopovers in Cape Town (South Africa), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Sanya (China), Auckland (New Zealand), Itajaí (Brazil), Newport (Rhode Island, US), Lisbon (Portugal), Lorient (France) and a 24-hour pit-stop in The Hague (Netherlands) on the final leg.
