Sandals Grande Antigua has once again written its name down in the history books of the Sandals Resorts International family, after Representative – Brendaline Doxon walked away with this year’s Ultimate Award.
Bringing the number of awards to two for the local branch, Doxon – a Sales Rep at the Soon Come Back Department, received the prestigious team member award during the 5th annual Sandals/ATL Ultimate Award on Wednesday at the Sandals Grande Riviera in Jamaica.
She was chosen from amongst a group of 11,000 strong outstanding members across the Sandals chain who had earlier received the Prestige Award in their respective resorts. The Ultimate Team Member is chosen based on a judging process that features various categories including, community and environmental stewardship, training, attendance, team spirit, awards and achievements for the previous year.
“I feel like I’m on cloud nine. Words can’t explain how I feel. This award means so much to me and it just shows that hard work pays off”, Doxon expressed following her win.
For that hard work, her prizes include US$2500 and a fully paid one-week vacation at a Sandals resort of her choice. The Sandals Ultimate Award winner will receive transportation in a private limousine to the airport, overseas travel via a private jet to her holiday destination; VIP treatment at that resort of her choice and a further cash award of US$2,500.00.
Speaking on Doxon’s win, General Manager of Sandals Grande Antigua Courtney Miller notes, “the win comes as no surprise since Brendaline has always given exemplary service to both guest and her fellow team members. We are all very proud of her and this accomplishment speaks volume for not only the resort but for Antigua and Barbuda and the hospitality industry here.”
Doxon started working at Sandals on the 12th of August 2007 as a gift shop sales clerk and has since worked her way up, with hopes of attaining more.
For now, she loves what she does and proudly explains that, “The Soon Come Back is an on property travel agency where the guest can book their future vacation to any Sandals or Beaches while at the hotel. We also sell Sandals credit cards to them and enroll them to become Sandals members.”
Doxon adds, “I love my job! I would say I have the best job in the Sandals chain. I have gotten the opportunity to visit all 9 properties in Jamaica because of my job. I live and breathe sales.”
Asked what she would say to those aspiring to be an Ultimate Award winner, Doxon says, “Work hard and be determined. Put your best foot forward. Go the extra mile. It took me 5 years and 3 Team-Member of the Month nominations but I never gave up in giving great customer service.”
