4_sassy-300x169Santa Claus took a break from his work at the North Pole today to visit preschool and kindergarten students from Gardena and Hawthorne’s Zela Davis, Wiseburn’s Cabrillo and Anza elementary schools. Santa met with the students at the Flight Path Museum at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and treated them to holiday goodies and entertainment.

“We hold this holiday event every year for local students,” said Maria Tesoro Fermin, LAX Community Relations director. “It’s an important part of our outreach program to bring young travelers to the airport and expose them to the wonderful world of aviation. A visit to the airport during the holidays is especially exciting since the children met Santa and leave the airport with a handful of goodies.”

The students were entertained by the Hawthorne Police Department’s “K-9 Scotty” and “Gaby, the Talking Car.” They were also greeted by “Silly Sally” the clown, and an Airport Police officer with “K-9 Kira” as well as well as Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters from Fire Station 80 who reminded them to be extra careful during the holiday season.

Finally, Santa read “The Night Before Christmas” to the students before departing.
