600 additional tickets are up for grabs in a second allocation arranged by MTV and Derry City Council – 300 for each night of the MTV event. These tickets will be made available online via Ticketmaster for music fans who may have missed out first time round.
In addition 240 tickets will be awarded via free draws being held in local community centres in the Triax, Outer North, Waterside, Outer West and Rural areas on Tuesday, September 16.

Legacy Director with Derry City Council, Oonagh McGillion said she was delighted to be able to provide the additional tickets.

‘MTV Crashes Ebrington Square is going to be the biggest highlight of our Music City 2014 programme, and we are anticipating some fantastic music from some of the biggest names in the industry. MTV were thrilled at the level of local interest and the fact that the tickets were snapped up in record time, so I am delighted to be able to offer the opportunity for more local music fans to be part of the MTV experience.

‘As part of our Legacy Programme for 2014, we remain committed to providing amazing cultural experiences and ensuring opportunities are open to our community areas. This community engagement programme has continued during 2014 to nurture and inspire local talent through our community engagement partnerships. I wish everyone the very best of luck in the draw.’

Community Engagement Co-Ordinator Helen Sayers, said she anticipated large numbers at the draw centres. ‘I am delighted that Derry City Council has provided us with tickets for what will be such a major event for the city, and one that has so much appeal to local young people.

‘We held a similar draw ahead of One Big Weekend and the level of interest was phenomenal, so I am anticipating that this raffle will also draw big numbers of music fans. I would encourage people to show up on time, and make sure they follow all the instructions in registering their information.’
