A second Surdyk’s Flights location opened Monday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). Located inside security at Terminal 2-Humphrey, this 55-seat, full-service restaurant, bar, and food and wine market has something for everyone’s taste.
Previously, Surdyk’s Flights was available only in Terminal 1-Lindbergh, where it has operated since August 2010.
“The new Surdyk’s Flights location further advances our efforts to feature Minnesota brands at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport” said Jeff Hamiel, executive director/CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates MSP. “The Terminal 1 Surdyk’s has become a traveler favorite, and we expect the second location will be just as popular.”
Surdyk’s Flights joins Cocina del Barrio, Caribou Coffee, Subway and Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine News & Gifts, all of which opened in an expanded area of Terminal 2 within the last year. The new amenities are located across from gates H8-H10.
A family-owned store for four generations, Surdyk’s has been a mainstay at its East Hennepin Ave. location in Minneapolis since 1934. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the full-service café features gourmet offerings ranging from light fare such as a cheeses, meats, nuts and olives, to salads, baguette sandwiches and Panini, to delectable desserts like crème brulee, dark Belgian chocolate brownies, tirimisu or salted caramel pudding.
The menu recommends a particular fine wine to accompany each meal selection in addition to “flights” of wine based on geography or grape variety. The venue also has a fully stocked bar for your beer or cocktail of choice. You can even purchase wine by the bottle to take with you on your trip.
The hours of operation are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Off-sale purchase of alcohol on Sundays is prohibited by Minnesota law.
