Sentosa-Express-trainSingapore: A Sentosa Express train got stuck for over an hour confining 61 passengers within its confines when it stalled on Thursday night.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) rescued the passengers after the train got stranded while it was traveling towards VivoCity at about 10.10pm.

Representatives from Sentosa Development Corporation tried transferring the passengers to a rescue train to take them to the nearest Imbiah station on Sentosa.

However, they encountered “technical difficulties in moving the rescue train” and had to call the SCDF seeking help with the rescue operations, said a spokesperson.

Important observations:
The SCDF received the call for help at 11.30pm and arrived within eight minutes.

The last passenger was rescued at about 2am.

One 48-year-old woman was sent to hospital after complaining of discomfort.

Taxis were arranged to ferry passengers home. Finally, the light rail service resumed service at 7am on Friday morning.
