cq5dam.web_.press_.400.keepaspectratio3Each year, Forbes Travel Guide honours the most exceptional hotels in the United States and Canada as well as London, Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai and Singapore with its Five-Star distinction. Continuing the tradition of success in service, 18 Four Seasons hotels and resorts have received the Five-Star rating, the most properties with the Five-Star distinction of any hotel brand.

In addition to having the most properties with Five-Star distinction overall, Four Seasons also has the most properties that received the distinction for the first time this year. Five of the fifteen new Five-Star properties are Four Seasons hotels. Highlights include:

The flagship Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, opened in October 2012, features a state-of-the-art Spa and a restaurant and bar by international chef and restaurateur Daniel Boulud
Four Seasons Hotel Pudong, Shanghai, opened in September 2012, boasts a city-view pool and an exclusive Executive Club lounge for business travellers
Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver offers 30 storeys of relaxed urban luxury in the heart of the city’s premier shopping and entertainment district
Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills offers guest rooms and suites that all feature step-out balconies with expansive views of the gardens, Los Angeles or Beverly Hills
Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Cotai Strip features five outdoor pools, and luxury shopping and world-class entertainment at the doorstep

“Our prominent placement within the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Awards results reflects Four Seasons deep commitment to service excellence and our focus on the guest experience,” says Christopher Hunsberger, Executive Vice President Product and Innovation, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. “We are focused on harnessing the company’s culture – commitment to our people, a passion for service, and customer-focused evolution through innovation, to ensure we continue to position ourselves as industry leaders as we continue to grow.”

Forbes Travel Guide announces its Star Ratings twice yearly, honouring the world’s finest hotels, restaurants and spas. Only properties that meet high hospitality standards – the most stringent in the industry – achieve a Five Star, Four Star or Recommended rating. This year, 97 Five-Star hotels received top honours – the most in Forbes Travel Guide’s history. Forbes Travel Guide’s professional inspectors check into and check out every property regularly, evaluating more than 500 criteria to determine a Star Rating that takes the guess work out of travel planning and establishes a global benchmark for luxury travel.
